Chief Instructor

John Errington, Cert. Ed., D.A.S.E., 6th dan, World Shotokan Karate Institute.
Studied Karate since 1966, he is the Chief Referee of the United Kingdom Traditional Karate Federation, and has officiated at many national and international karate events, including European and world Championships. He travels extensively to train and study under the foremost exponents of shotokan karate, including senseis Kase, Nishiama, Shirai, and Kawasoe and is a member of the Shotokan Ryu Kase Ha Instructors Academy.


Assistant Chief Instructor

Steve Kirrelly, B.A., D.A.S.E, 5th dan, World Shotokan Institute
Commenced training in 1967. Since then he has trained and studied under the most eminent exponents of karate including senseis Kase, Shirai, Asano and Kawasoe, travelling extensively in the UK and abroad. He has competed in many competitions and is a senior referee in the UKTKF, and is a member of the Shotokan Ryu Kase Ha Instructors Academy.

Club Information

Ormskirk SKC was founded in 1989, and is affiliated to the United Kingdom Traditional Karate Federation, which in turn is affiliated to the International Traditional Karate Federation, and the English Karate Governing Body.

In addition to regular training, club members compete in National Championships, and atten training camps in the UK and abroad.
